**Job description**

**Purpose of Position**: To professionally work as part of a team to provide quality ongoing support for adults with developmental and physical disabilities maximizing their potential in a safe environment.

**Job Description: Monday-Friday (Full-time, 35h/week)**

**Direct Report**:Program Manager Department: Day Program

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- To work alongside Luso staff in creating and implementing program activities
- To lead clients individually or in group, facilitating their participation in the activities with verbal cues or hand over hand assistance while encouraging decision making and independence
- To provide/assist with care, feeding routines and/or other support
- To adhere to all Luso policies and procedures
- To be proactive in ensuring safety for oneself and for others, clients included
- To assist with daily, disinfecting, tidy-up and cleaning duties

**Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience)**
- Community College Certificate or Diploma PSW, DSW, EA or currently enrolled in Program
- Valid CPR, First Aid certification
- Current Vulnerable persons screening
- Knowledge of developmental and physical disabilities

**Skills/Competencies/Attributes**
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to take initiative
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Ability to work well within a changing environment
- Note: This position is for our Hamilton_ _location (760 Barton Street)_

**Experience**:
1 year (preferred)

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
