**The Initiative**
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional who is interested in providing provincial support to innovative, rural-based projects that are strengthening Alberta’s capacity to support mentally healthy Albertans in a healthy Alberta.

CMHA’s Rural Mental Health Project strives to strengthen community capacity for better mental health in over 150 rural and remote communities through ongoing training, network development, and community grants.

The Rural Mental Health project (RMHP) and network are being built collaboratively with strategic local and provincial partners. The principles that guide our work include health promotion, community-development, strength-based, using whole-community approaches, while considering the full lifespan development of our communities.

**The Role**

**Responsibilities**:

- Community Grants_
- Annual grant preparations; including, setting key dates, revising grants-related forms and documents, and supporting community applicants success.
- Support or redirect communities needing assistance to appropriate colleagues or tools.
- Input and update all relevant community grant information into appropriate software (e.g., Excel, Submittable).
- Invite, onboard, and distribute all required information to Adjudication teams.
- Summarize decisions and conditions for each applicant, distributing notice of result letters and grant agreements as appropriate.
- Monitor and track grant reporting responsibilities for all communities, providing reminders, hosting check-in calls, reviewing written and financial reports, and compiling community information.
- Work with colleagues and community partners to tackle challenges or new opportunities that arise.
- Add and update grant information and forms into the RMH website, Submittable, and various network communications.
- Network Support_
- Collaborate with team members to build capacity surrounding grant writing and reporting across project activities to mutually reinforce and support community success.
- Plan, gather, and analyse data to capture community participation, along with impacts or value generated during learning events and activities.
- Use collected information to ensure growth and improvements to process, administration, facilitation, and evaluation.
- Support the ongoing evaluation in partnership with the RMH team and evaluators.
- Support project team communications, meeting preparation, and follow up.
- Liaise with team and partners to provide information, materials and support, as required.
- Assist in the writing of bi-annual impact reports to funders.
- Submit and reconcile expense reports.
- Potential for growth and diversifying responsibilities based on aptitude and interest.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience_
- Expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including Outlook, Zoom, Google, and grant management software, other interactive and information management tools.
- Excellent organization, interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills
- Experience and comfort with working remotely,
- Experience with community engagement and collaborative facilitation practices an asset.
- Experience in social innovation, systems-thinking, and critical thinking an asset
- Education and Training_
- A Master’s or Baccalaureate degree in a related field. Relevant project coordination education, training, or experience in a related field (a combination of education and experience will be considered)
