Aquaculture Technician

Sapphire Springs Inc. is growing. We start with a peerless strain of all Canadian strain Charr. We are growing an advanced brood stock program, aimed at providing world class Ova to the marketplace. We are growing our facility. A state of the art 5,000 MT RAS system is currently under construction to help us grow to be one of the largest suppliers of Arctic Charr on the planet. We have an immediate need for motivated Aquaculture Technicians to join our team. The technicians will be responsible for performing various duties throughout the day. We are located 30 minutes north of Winnipeg and centrally located between Stonewall and Teulon. This position is not located in Winnipeg.

**Responsibilities**:

- Feeding
- Purging and cleaning fish tanks
- Measuring water quality parameters
- Maintaining equipment and helping with all aspects of the daily farming operations

**Soft Skills**:

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as a part of team
- Mechanical skills for pumps, motors, etc. highly desirable
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy is critical
- Strong organizational skill

**Schedule**:
Fish farming, like all farming, is a lifestyle choice. Fish will be maintained 7 days a week and shifts will include both days and afternoons. On-Call rotation is also required.

**Salary**: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
