Job Title: Inclusive Outdoor Educator/Youth Leader

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and Lead Inclusive Outdoor Educational Programs: Develop and implement inclusive outdoor educational programs that cater to participants of all abilities. Encourage youth to connect with nature, build relationships, engage in physical activity, boost self-confidence, and foster personal growth.
- Safety and Wellbeing: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants by maintaining a high level of awareness during outdoor activities. Valid first aid certification is required; training can be provided.
- Experience with Neurodiverse Youth: Experience in working with neurodiverse youth, particularly those who may sometimes exhibit challenging behaviors, is preferred. Adapt your teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each participant.
- Maintain a Safe and Inclusive Environment: Create and sustain a secure and inclusive environment for all participants during outdoor adventures, emphasizing respect for nature and one another.
- Criminal Record Check: A clean criminal record check is required for this position.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to develop and enhance inclusive outdoor programs. Participate in team meetings and provide creative input to continually improve our offerings.
- Proactive Thinking: Be an out-of-the-box thinker who can proactively identify and address challenges and opportunities during outdoor excursions.

**Requirements**:

- Passion for Inclusivity and Nature: A genuine commitment to promoting inclusivity and a deep love for nature.
- Education and Experience: A background in recreational therapy, play therapy, child and youth development, or a related field is highly desirable. Previous experience in inclusive outdoor education is a plus.
- First Aid Certification: Valid first aid certification is required. If not currently certified, the organization is willing to provide training.
- Outdoor Skills and Training: Possessing outdoor skills and relevant training is an asset.
- Strong Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with participants of all abilities and team members.
