Junior Estimator

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our team

Someone who is persistent, organized, punctual and works well under pressure to support senior management with ongoing projects; aiding in design, cost estimating, and material ordering and purchasing.

**Education, Experience & Skills**:

- **Graduated with a Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma, minimum 3 years relevant job experience**
- AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD Package
- Proficient in Microsoft Work & Excel
- Experience with estimating package considered an asset
- Experience in construction industry an asset

**Job Responsibilities and Duties**:
**Estimation and Project Management**:

- Assist in estimates and closing bids
- Calculate various statistical data - quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs, equipment, etc.
- Support senior staff with project management responsibilities
Submittals
Change orders
Progress claims
O&M Manuals
- Provide service reports to management concerning ongoing projects and their progress
- Research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates
- Aid in daily office requirements
- Update material pricing database regularly
- Help manage day to day work on projects
- Assist in inventory control

**Customer Service**:

- Answer calls in professional manner and generate service orders
- Contact customers as needed regarding ongoing projects
- Ensure all deadlines are recorded and met
- Maintain client relations by servicing existing customers and soliciting new customers within the mechanical industry
- Act in a professional and obliging manner

**Health and Safety**:

- Follow safe work procedures
- Work to ensure safety of all employees
- Complete all safety and competency certifications required
