Reporting to the AVP, Capital, Treasury, and Reinsurance, this Manager, Reinsurance Accounting position is a key member of the reinsurance team. This position provides an opportunity to oversee all the accounting and finance aspects of the reinsurance team, as well as to work collaboratively across different teams including reinsurance placement, finance, actuarial, claims, personal, commercial, and external reinsurance brokers and reinsurers.

**What can you expect in this role?**
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial and regulatory reporting processes
- Lead the monthly reinsurance billings and collections for all reinsurance contracts
- Ownership of reinsurance compliance to internal and external stakeholders including enterprise risk management, internal and external auditors, and applicable regulatory bodies
- Manage Specialty lines financial booking process including working with the business to streamline activities
- Support the reinsurance placement team on activities, as required
- Lead a team of 3 reinsurance specialists in executing on all activities
- Deep dive into processes to continually identify improvements and efficiencies to improve productivity
- Create strong links with various internal and external business units in order to deliver on responsibilities

**What do you bring to the role?**
- University or college degree in business, finance, or related program
- An accounting designation
- 7+ years’ experience in financial accounting and reporting roles in the insurance and / or reinsurance industry including insurers, brokers, and / or reinsurers
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent attention to detail and refined analytical skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Strong work ethic and commitment to operational excellence
- Flexibility to deal with time sensitive ad hoc requests as they arise
- Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions, whether with external parties or co-workers

Salary range: $74,100 - $136,500
