Directly accountable to the Team Lead of Operations Services, the housekeeper performsa variety of duties to maintain the cleanliness of the facility to meet health & safety guidelines for the safety of our clients, staff, and visitors.

Performs all duties in accordance with established health and safety regulations/guidelines, policies, and procedures (e.g., utilizing personal, protective equipment as per safe work procedures). Notifies the Team Lead of all occurrences, injuries illnesses or safety and health concerns which are likely to harm themselves, their co-workers, or any others who enter the premises.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Cleaning of assigned areas and tasks throughout facility (may include but not limited to wet mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sanitizing, empty and clean trash receptacles, collet recycling and discarding garbage).
- Maintain the cleanliness of storage areas and notify Team Lead if you notice low on supplies.
- Ability to operate laundry equipment (evaluate facility’s linens bedding/towels/ for damage) organize clean laundry items on laundry carts for distribution in the zones.

**Sanitation and Safety**:

- Responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment
- Ensures assigned cleaning duties are completed
- Able to safely operate relevant housekeeping equipment
- Reports equipment requiring repair or safety hazards to supervisor/maintenance department
- Understands and adheres with the policies and procedures of Southeast Wellness Lodge that relate to performing the operations position to promote a safe environment
- Complies with all safety and health regulations when performing duties

- Participates in orientation and training of housekeeping operations personnel
- Assists others to complete tasks supporting a team environment. Promotes a facility wide team approach through active cooperation with staff
- Advocates for respectful environment, recognizing individual uniqueness. Maintains dignity and respect for all clients, guests, and co-workers
- Maintains competency level by attending staff meetings, in-service programs or workshops as required

**Continuous Quality Improvement**:

- Contributes to improving housekeeping operations services for clients and staff by bringing concerns forward, information sharing and making suggestions for improvement
- May be required to perform other duties and functions related to this job description but not exceeding
- qualifications stated above

**Summary of Requirements**:

- ** Education**:

- Minimum Grade 12, Manitoba standards, required or equivalent experience.

**Experience/Qualifications**:

- Experience in commercial or institutional cleaning an asset. Training will be provided.
- Ability to carry out duties in a professional manner, working under minimum or no supervision, and in compliance with confidentiality of facility and clients.
- Demonstrates effective organizational skills with the ability to problem solve.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and oral, of the English language.
- Able to accept constructive criticism.
- Functions effectively in a stressful environment with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrates effective time management skills and be able to prioritize accordingly.
- Maintains own physical, mental, and emotional well-being to meet the job requirements (i.e., prolonged standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and bending)
- Maintain a clean, neat appearance remaining compliant to dress code.
- Able to arrive punctually and prepared to work.
- Interested in the client’s wellbeing, and in working to uphold the concepts of teamwork in caring for the needs of the clients.
