**The University of Saskatchewan** is one of the top research-intensive universities in Canada. The main campus also houses our campus partners such as the Royal University Hospital, Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, National Research Council, and others. The total building area is 8.1 million square feet (754,000 square meters) across 766 hectares of land.
**The Facilities team** is comprised of over 300 trades personnel and service workers that provide trusted services and stewardship in support of teaching, learning, and discovery. This team is responsible for operations, maintenance, service, utilities distribution, and customer support. The Facilities Team Charter describes the purpose, vision, and values that in turn support the campus community.
**Primary Purpose**: This position is responsible for providing exceptional logístical, operational, and administrative support for Facilities operations. The Storekeeper manages how Facilities resources are acquired, stored, and transported to their final destination. This role is accountable for supporting, enabling, and improving the delivery of Facilities services to the campus community. This position is also responsible for the logístical and administrative tasks associated with daily campus mailroom duties. The Storekeeper works closely with a wide complement of individuals in Facilities and related units, as well as external suppliers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of products to the Parts Department’s main and satellite warehouses. The Storekeeper is expected to be proactive, flexible, and accommodating in providing support for Facilities colleagues and the campus community
**Typical Duties/Accountabilities**:
- Is accountable to the Facilities Team Charter, is aligned with its purpose, vision, and values, and holds themselves and each other accountable to it
- Is aware and mindful of safety hazards and must always work in compliance with all safety practices and procedures, and stays current with all Safety Resources training courses
- Stays current and is informed on all current Facilities contracts with external suppliers and applies the principles of these contracts accordingly; is aware of the various pricing, ordering process, lead times, for all current contracts
- Is familiar with and performs all aspects of current operations including but not limited to: storekeeping duties, shipping/receiving duties, mailroom duties
- Works closely with Facilities Planners, as well as external suppliers, to ensure products are ordered and delivered to their respective locations with the appropriate timing, avoiding the need for an overabundance of products on shelves
- Sources stocked and non-stocked items as required through various suppliers as well as seeking potential new suppliers
- Performs regular audits and spot checks on items in all warehouses, participates in quarterly inventory counts of all warehouses, as well as monthly mailroom counts
- Is familiar with all mailroom software and equipment, bills campus customers appropriately, and ensures the timely receipt and delivery of campus mail
- Ensures all relevant campus mailroom duties for the day are performed in a timely and accurate manner
- Safely operates USask passenger vehicles and warehouse equipment as required in accordance with the USask Vehicle Use and Driver Authorization Process
- Reports and arranges any required service, maintenance, or repairs on equipment
- Participates in the RFP process to rate proponents and select successful contract recipients as required
- Delivers items as required to various locations across campus
- Assists in reviewing inventory levels, making recommendations for changes to stock levels,, suggesting reorder points, and recommending items to be removed from inventory
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and utilize effective time management skills
- Must be able to perform all physical requirements of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
- Supports other Facilities initiatives and activities as needed
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Three to five years of experience in a complex and dynamic multi-purpose facility, or industrial operations setting
- Relevant post-secondary education, preferably in a business or finance related field
- Completion of a valid Red Seal Journeyperson’s certificate as a Parts Technician as recognized by the Saskatchewan Department of Labour would be an asset
**Experience**:
- Experience with work management and asset management software would be an asset
- Familiarity and experience in logistics, trades, construction, or a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
