Wild Life Value Lead, leads the development and implementation of wildlife-related cumulative effects assessments in support of the Branch’s mandates for the Cumulative Effects Framework (CEF). This position provides leadership, expertise, and guidance for the development and continuous improvement of assessment and monitoring protocols for selected species or guilds of wildlife (currently, the wildlife species assessed under the CEF are grizzly bears and moose).

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in biological sciences or related field AND a minimum of 10 years of related experience**, or
- Masters’s Degree or higher in biological sciences or related field AND a minimum of 5 years of related experience**:

- Registered (or immediately eligible*) as a Registered Professional Biologist (RP Bio) in B.C. with the College of Applied Biology (CAB).

Note: Immediately eligible is defined as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to the CAB within 6 months of employment or qualified to receive designation within 6 months. Confirmation of registration/eligibility will be required before an offer of employment can be confirmed. If you are not currently registered, advise how you have confirmed with the CAB that you are immediately eligible.

**Cumulative Related experience:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in leading project design and delivery, analysis and reporting, and providing advice related to wildlife (preference may be given for 5 or more years)
- Minimum 2 years experience designing and implementing novel assessment methodologies and monitoring wildlife (preference may be given for experience in wildlife assessments in BC).
- Demonstrated experience working in collaborative, multi-party, working groups/settings on complex wildlife-related projects.
- Experience summarizing complex information and providing advice.

Preference may be given to applicants who have training and/or experience with:

- Experience in assessing the combined effects of human and natural disturbances on wildlife habitat and/or populations.
- Experience with species distribution, habitat suitability/capability, Resource Selection Function (RSF) modelling or other quantitative approaches to understand wildlife habitat use and mapping. Experience using GIS software, namely ArcGIS and QGIS, Python script, and RPROVISO & WILLINGNESS STATEMENTS
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid British Columbia Class 5 driver's licence.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Province. Willingness to meet safety standards of WorkSafe BC.**About this Position**:
