**Job Title**:GIS Technician _Part-time (with the possibility of full-time)_

**Department**:Archaeology

**Reports to**:Sr. Archaeologist, Manager of Archaeology

**Job Summary**:Katzie Development Limited Partnership is seeking a GIS Technician to provide GIS operational support for our clients from diverse sectors, including forestry, municipal infrastructure, parks and recreation, residential development, and transportation.

**Requirements**:

- Possess a technical degree in GIS with extensive knowledge of ArcGIS.
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience with GIS and graphics.
- Be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Training in web development.
- Desire to work closely (in both leadership and supporting roles) with First Nations.
- Excellent writing and communications skills.
- Ability to work in a deadline driven environment.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Production of map products for field crews and technical reporting.
- Creation and management of accurate geospatial databases.
- Conduct statistical analyses using ArcGIS (modelling, path analysis, viewshed etc.).
- Creation of data visualizations and technical illustrations.
- Raster georeferencing and digital file conversions.
- Assist with Archaeological Inventory forms as needed.
- Completing web design tasks.
- Willing to assist in field assessments, when required.
- Assist with cultural mapping, where appropriate.
- Manage logistics and equipment (including assignments to field crews)
- Applicants should be located in British Columbia and must be eligible to work legally within Canada. Salary commensurate with education, skills and experience._
