**ABOUT THE POSITION**

Working in a remote camp setting, the Geotechnician/Junior Geologist is responsible for supporting geological and geophysical programs in a safe and efficient manner. The Geotechnician/Junior Geologist will prepare drill core for logging, support fieldwork programs, report on work completed to the Supervisor or designate, and complete core cutting and shipping as required.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Reporting to the Manager, Exploration or Designate, duties will include (but are not limited to):

- Supporting exploration programs, including diamond drilling, geophysical programs, mapping, and till sampling;
- Preparing drill core for logging by piecing, rotating and cleaning the rocks, taking measurements of recovery, RQD, magnetic susceptibility and conductivity, and setting metre marks along the drill core;
- Assisting the logging geologist as needed;
- Cutting the drill core, and preparing sample shipments as needed;
- Participating in daily toolbox meetings to promote compliance to B2’s safety policies and procedures; and
- Prioritizing health and safety in all aspects of work.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience in field mapping, performing geotechnical and core logging activities, and sampling;
- College Diploma in Geological, Geotechnical, or other related disciplines or working towards an Undergraduate degree in Geology;
- Prior experience working in a remote camp setting considered an asset;
- Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labour; and
- WHIMS Certification and/or Level 1 First Aid considered an asset.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**

The regular hourly rate of pay is $27.00, with overtime payable at $40.50 for 10-hour shifts on-site.
