Nanny/housekeeper

Her Initiative Co is a small business in Point Edward, ON N7V 1E9. Our goal is to Her Initiative Co. is a social enterprise designed to unleash the entrepreneurial energy and capacity of people who aspire to become and/or currently are small business owners.

I'm a sole proprietor looking for some help in childcare and keeping up with our busy household this summer. There may be an opportunity to extend the contract into the fall.

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm on
Depending on hire date, I'm looking for support on:
July 4, 5, 6, 13, 14, 24, 25. Aug 3, 4, 7, 11, 17, 22, 23

**Duties**:

- Provide attentive and responsible care for children in a safe and nurturing environment
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities, such as playtime, arts and crafts, and educational games
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children
- Put dirty laundry in washing machine and/or dryer
- Put dirty dishes in dishwasher and hand wash dishes when required
- Vacuum and mop floors
- Clean bathrooms once per week
- Maintain a clean and organized play area
- Ensure children's safety at all times, including during outdoor activities or outings
- Follow parents' instructions regarding routines, discipline, and any specific care needs
- Communicate effectively with parents about the child's daily activities, behavior, and any concerns

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in babysitting or childcare preferred
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills, both with children and parents
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children
- Knowledge of how to maintain a clean and organized home

Please note that this is not a daycare position. It is a part-time role providing care for children in their own homes.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 weeks

**Salary**: $17.00-$18.00 per hour

- What experience do you have working with children? (this can include family)
- Are you familiar with gentle parenting and will you use this method when working with my little girls?
- Your schedule will be spending the mornings with my little girls (ages 8 and 9) playing, participating and planning in activities and feeding snacks/lunch. Afternoons will be spending helping out around the house (laundry, dishes, vacuuming etc). How does this sound to you?
- Are you currently located in Lambton County and able to provide your own transportation?
