**What you’ll be doing**:
- Provide office support to the clinical areas with duties related to clerical, reception, scheduling, timekeeping and clinical records
- Daily chart filing and maintenance; including setting up upon admission, backfilling in accordance with approved assembly list, reviewing to ensure required signatures are in place, thinning, pick-up and delivery of files to CIM within required timelines, and faxing/mailing documents as necessary upon discharge in accordance with PHIPA guidelines
- Prepare and complete daily paperwork such as billing sheets, flow sheets, and patient daily census for bed/room changes, patient assignment to physicians, transfers, discharges, admissions, and off service from Trillium
- Provide back-up support to Centralized Staffing as required, to replace sick calls for RNs, RPNs, and PSWs, and process schedule change requests
- Greet and assist all visitors and patients on the unit; provide unit orientation to new patients
- Maintain and monitor staff station: monitor unit door when locked for clinical reasons, answer the phones, relay messages, distribute/re-direct patient and team member mail, and keep the area tidy (including bulletin boards and information centres)
- Liaise with various departments and programs as necessary to ensure quality patient care as well as general maintenance and safety of the unit (e.g. dietary, housekeeping, environmental services)
**What we’re looking for**:
- Secondary School Diploma
- Six months clerical experience in a unionized environment
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize
- Knowledge of ONA and UFCW contracts is an asset
- Knowledge of Hospital and Service policies
- Computer skills and experience related to Kronos and Word
- Ability to process payroll systems and prepare summary reports as
- Knowledge of Clinical Information Management (CIM) and MHA Forms required
- Keyboarding skills required
