Early Childhood Educator- Abecedarian Supervisor

**Description**:
RDC provides a literature-based program using the Abecedarian Approach. The Abecedarian Approach is a pre-literacy and language-based approach. This site provides care for infant, toddler and preschool children. This role is a term position with the potential for full-time employment after the term.

MELCD’s site supervisors are responsible for operating their respected site in a way that aligns with the program’s philosophies. They oversee the general daily routine and arrange staffing and schedules to meet the needs of the program. Supervisors split their time between administrative duties and working directly on the floor (ex: 20% administrative; 80%floor).

RDC has an on-site Abecedarian Mentor that the Site Supervisor collaborates with to ensure that the program needs and the routine needs are met. The Site Supervisor works closely with the staff to support, guide and mentor them in their practice.

RDC site is able to collaborate with other organizations in the building to provide drop-in care for the families. These partnerships aid in relationship building with the families and allows the program to understand and meet their needs.
- minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in an Infant/Toddler Pre K Program
- current ECE lll/ll
- understanding of ELCC & MELCD’s policies
- Strong understanding of the Abecedarian Approach/training
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- proven conflict resolution skills
- able to balance administrative duties with floor responsibilities
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 months

**Salary**: $24.36-$26.43 per hour
