**Eaton is currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team. This position is based at our Perth, Ontario location.**

**Position Overview**:
As a member of the Distribution Centre (DC) support team, the primary function of the Quality Inspector (QI) is to improve organizational effectiveness and contribute to supporting the Operational Excellence (OpEx) Department with incoming and in-process inspections. The quality inspector will investigate and drive the root cause of non-conformances, then partner with suppliers to improve product design and support the site’s ISO and Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS). This role will also implement quality projects, processes & Continuous Improvement (CI) events to ensure that operational, financial, and quality objectives are met.

**In this function you will**:

- Consider Safety as number one and support alignment of CI / OpEx / Quality and MESH strategies.
- Perform functional testing on products and conduct defect analysis to drive root cause.
- Coordinate the control, handling and management of defective material / quality alerts, by working with the Mod Shop, Materials, Planning, Engineering staff and suppliers.
- Coordinate the quality control and Non-Conformance (NCR) systems.
- Interact with internal and external partners to improve to component and assembly design that improves manufacturability and reduces cost.
- Support / lead successful Kaizen Events, Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs) & CI Events.
- Identify opportunities to improve and, where possible, complete improvement updates to production components, systems, and assembly drawings. Also, identify and provide design suggestions for improving testing methods and product reliability.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience**:
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Business / Commerce, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, etc.) or industrial technology; or equivalent in-depth and demonstrable experience
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a Quality / technical role.
- Knowledge of mechanical and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing mechanical tools and measuring equipment for assembly and calibration.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, attention to detail, communication, analytical and reporting skills.
- Strong understanding of Office 365 including Teams, Power Apps, Forms, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
- Passion for quality, how things work and for making things better.

Preferred Qualifications
- Certified EQMS auditor, or working towards certification.
- Six Sigma, Lean, PMP or ASQ certification.
- Experience within a manufacturing and / or distribution centre environment.
