Part-time Supervisor for After School Drawing

Young Rembrandts is a national award-winning drawing program. Our innovative step-by-step process teaches children basic to intermediate drawing techniques. The curriculum encourages children to express their imagination while improving motor skills, patience, focus, and ability to stay on task.

Guaranteed 18 hours per week between mid-September to mid-June. School holidays off.

Start date: mid-January

Bonus provided after completing each full school year.

Main responsibilities:

- Must be available Mondays thru Thursdays in the afternoons to observe/supervise instructors deliver lessons in elementary schools. Most lessons are from 3pm-4:30pm, but some start as early at 2pm and end as late as 5:45pm.
- Provide guidance and constructive feedback to instructors.
- Most schools are in Vancouver, but you may also have to travel Burnaby, New West, or the north shore. The time spent travelling to the locations in paid.
- Sub in and deliver the drawing lesson if an instructor is unavailable.
- Train new instructors.
- Various administrative tasks (flexible time work from home, must have computer, etc.)
- Occasionally attend events promoting the program.
- Occasionally deliver flyers to accounts.
- Optional: sales, possibility of commission for acquiring new accounts.
- Possibility of getting additional hours delivering lessons in drawing camps during spring break and summer.

**Requirements**:

- **Must be available Monday to Thursday mid-afternoons.**:

- Significant experience teaching/leading groups of children ages 3.5 to 12 years old.
- Ability to draw well and an interest in art.
- Mature, dependable and organized.
- **Must have reliable access to a car (car-share not an option), valid driver's license and good driving record.**:

- Criminal background check for vulnerable sectors.
- Live in the city of Vancouver (or very close by).
- Experience doing various administrative tasks using a computer.
- Clear spoken English (Other languages an asset).
