**EDGE ESL is hiring a part-time LINC Instructor**

CLB 1-2L
- **Job Overview**_
- The ESL teacher is responsible for planning and implementing English as a Second Language classes for adult learners in the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program_
- **Role and Responsibilities**_
- Plan and teach settlement focused lessons each week to a group of adult learners
- Plan course content based on results of student needs assessment and in accordance with the Canadian Language Benchmarks
- Implement Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) for each learner
- Assess student progress and prepare reports based on the CLB
- Keep secure and accurate records of attendance and progress
- **Qualifications**_
- Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate from a TESL Canada certified institution
- Undergraduate degree
- Experience teaching Canadian Language Benchmarks Literacy and Stage 1 learners
- Thorough understanding of the Canadian Language Benchmarks and PBLA
- PBLA training must be completed within the forst three months of employment
- Knowledge and sensitivity to the settlement process for newcomers
- Exceptional interpersonal skills which align with the organization’s values of learning, respect and integrity
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

- Location: Rene Deleurme Centre, 511 St. Anne’s Rd, Winnipeg, MB
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 12:30-3:00pm
- Job Type: Term position, September 9, 2024 - March 28, 2025 (extension dependent on renewal of government funding)
- Class Level: CLB 1-2L
- Hours per week: 15 (10 contact, 5 prep)
- Salary: $43.47 - $44.80 per hour plus vacation pay and additional prep time
