**Reports to**: CS Mechatronics Centre Manager

**Summary**: The CS Mechanical Systems Technician provides complete support to the CS team with the assembly, commissioning and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical solutions. Other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor including product testing and labelling. Supervision as needed.

**Location**: Mississauga Head Office

**Responsibilities**:

- Understands and follows engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Interprets specifications and job orders
- Reads, interprets pneumatic/electrical drawings to position parts according to the engineering design
- Provides feedback to the engineering team by marking up drawings and suggesting improvements
- Collaborate with Engineering on various projects as needed
- Collaborates with CS Engineers to test, troubleshoot, commission and document projects
- Verifies machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
- Examines form, fit and function of parts for conformance to specifications
- Assemble various automation assemblies and sub-assemblies (process valves, air filtration, customized electro-pneumatic assemblies)
- Assemble gantries / handling systems and related sub-assemblies as required in accordance with all CAD 2D / 3D drawings
- Able to assemble/troubleshoot control panels (Pneumatic and electro-pneumatic)
- Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips or other fasteners
- Test and verify assemblies, sub-assemblies, gantries etc for functionality as per design
- Tests cylinders by using various hand tools, assembly fixtures, adhesives and lubricants
- Cleans and labels cylinders and attaches applicable hardware
- Fits and assembles or disassembles parts using a variety of hand and power tools
- Adheres to and completes all required ISO Documentation
- Participate in the continuous quality and productivity improvement activities including creating work instructions / documentation and testing procedures
- Operates machines such as lathes, drill presses, mills, etc. to fabricate and/or modify machined components as required
- Comply with the Health and Safety policies and inform management of unsafe working conditions
- Maintain safe and orderly work area
- Other duties as assigned. Additional work hours in excess of normal business hours may be necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education with a focus in Mechanical, or Mechatronics. Mechanical preferred but basic understanding of electrical is an asset
- Possesses a strong grasp of GD&T and drawing standards
- Highly attentive to detail and fact-finding to ensure accuracy
- Extremely well organized and resourceful with the ability to prioritize urgent tasks
- Effective written and verbal communication and technical documentation skills
- A professional attitude with a strong sense of commitment and integrity
- Possesses a positive, team player attitude
- Work well under pressure and through ambiguity with problem solving mindset
- Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently with some supervision as well as within a team
