**Read Seal Machinist - North Vancouver**

For over 55 years, United Gear has specialized in gearbox refurbishment and enhancement. We manufacture and design gearing and other machined components to support mechanical project design and refurbishment. United Gear has set itself apart by providing the highest quality gearbox refurbishment services supporting Western Canada’s mining, forestry, pulp and port services, including wind power industries.

Our continued project expansion has increased our machining volume, requiring us to hire Red Seal Machinists with CNC and advanced manual skills in repair and new product machining.

**Successful Applicants Must Be/Have**:

- Set up and run various lathes, mills and drilling and tapping equipment.
- Minimum Red Seal.
- Demonstrated machining and mechanical aptitude.
- Advanced ability to read drawings, inspect parts and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Detailed and able to maintain a tidy work environment.
- Self-discipline with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- In good health as requiring frequent lifting, pulling, pushing.
- In the lower mainland and preferably located within 25 km of the North Shore.
- Flexible for shift work options.
- Authorized to work long-term in Canada with proper trade qualifications.
- Able to communicate in English, both spoken and written.
- United Gear would start Machinist on the 5-day morning schedule with a required expectation to move to afternoons on a 4-day work week.

**Credit will be given to individuals experienced with**:

- Machine service and repair.
- Experience with industrial gearboxes is an asset.

**Salary**: $36.00-$43.00 per hour
