- Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc. Is a nonprofit, community based; Indigenous lead human services organization that provides a range of Indigenous identified programs and services that focus on the wholeness, wellness that builds on the strengths and resilience of Indigenous People._
**The Opportunity**:
The **Coordinator **for the Kistesimaw “Eldest Brother” program will manage, administer, and oversee the delivery of the programs deliverables. Kistesimaw works with children, by providing support to young boys under the age of 12 with one-on-one and group mentoring.
**What You Will Be Doing.**
- Responsible for further developing program delivery tools;
- Planning, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring of the program;
- Day-to-day management of the program, participants, and staff;
- Provide creative leadership, mentorship and support;
- Recruitment of participants;
- Oversee work plans and budgets;
- Complete all program related reports;
- Ensure that traditional knowledge is incorporated in the design, development and delivery of the programs;
- Accompany participants to recreational and leisure activities, appointments, referrals, educational, cultural and other appropriate resources to ensure active and ongoing participation occurs;
- Maintain regular contact with participants and families, and collaterals in their lives;
- Able to document and provide case notes and reports as per program requirements;
- Program planning, preparation and facilitation
- Transportation of participants as required;
**Who You Are**:
- Relevant post-secondary education, or combination of education and experience;
- Three (3) years’ experience working with Indigenous boys, ages 12 and under;
- Strong understanding of child development processes;
- Physically able to engage in physical activities with children;
- Experience in facilitating group activities;
- Experience with case management models;
- Understanding of wraparound and community-centered approach as well as trauma-informed practices;
- Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to staff and participant confidentiality;
- Commitment to cultural reclamation practice and traditional healing practices;
**You Have**:
- A valid Manitoba Driver’s License, clear drivers abstract and reliable access to a vehicle;
- The ability to work 40 hours a week with flexible hours including weekends, evenings;
- A recent (as of the past 6 months) Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector, and Child Abuse Registry Check:
- Understanding on the male role influence when working with boy;
- Demonstrate and incorporate cultural knowledge competence;
