**JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW**

The Equipment assembly and repair Service Technician will be instrumental in the assembly, installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of medication carts, and various automated equipment (hardware & software) in the field. This role also provides backup support to our Shipping Department on an as needed basis. A key part of this role is establishing and maintaining positive, proactive relationships with Manrex medication cart and automation customers.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

This team member must be organized, very detail oriented and mechanically inclined in order to succeed in this position. A results oriented, problem solver, dedicated to producing outcomes that are desired by both the customer and Manrex is required. Customer downtime for equipment is a critical problem and timely response as well as an urgency to solve problems quickly and accurately, is essential to this position’s responsibilities. Problems should be fixed effectively to avoid repeat problems for the clients.

**1. AUTOMATION EQUIPMENT.**
- Professionally implement installations, upgrades and repairs on-site at customer location
- Responsible for new installations of any hardware and software solutions including the set up and testing of required databases.
- After the sale of an automation system is complete, in conjunction with the Customer develop and implement the project plan to coordinate the entire installation process and phases, which includes configurations of the Manrex line of automated pharmacy systems, training of customers, identifying potential issues and resolving them.
- Assist Manrex Sales Representative’s during pre-installation / sales meetings to address technical questions.
- Work closely with the manufacturers’ Interface Engineers in setting up and testing interfaces to the hospital and pharmacy systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment from remote location using networking tools and software
- Responsible for the servicing and preventative maintenance of equipment in the field when needed
- Define training requirements for operators, technicians and operational procedures for preventative maintenance
- Continually evaluate/monitor and track the technical performance of the system.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, interface and communication problems and coordinate the tasks necessary to solve them.
- Install upgrades as required.
- Track all customer interactions on Service Report spreadsheet and assist in the generation of all necessary reports and tracking systems
- When talking/traveling to customer locations look for opportunities to sell additional complimentary products
- Assist with product trial evaluations and/or trade shows.
- Provide feedback from customers on enhancing our machines and new product ideas
- Assist with our standards manuals to develop a more technically complete and user-friendly service manual

**2. MEDICATION CART PRODUCTION**
- Update scheduling of cart production weekly to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Update and notify Sales and Customer Service of any advancements or delays in the production schedule.
- Creation and processing of work orders related to carts and cart accessories.
- Maintain and keep current all ISO cart assembly procedures. All proposed changes are to be reviewed and approved by the Customer Service & Operations Manager
- Assembling all carts in-house from start to finish according to the ISO procedures.
- Coordinate with purchasing regarding replacement keys/parts related to carts.
- Service calls in the field (mainly the Winnipeg area) as required.
- Ensure all tools are properly cared for and put away upon completion of maintenance or repair.
- Ensure Cart parts are properly inventoried, labelled, and stored in the correct location.
- Ensure any communication regarding cart production, including vendor communications and other team members is done on a daily basis and documented as required.
- responsible assisting in the return of defective or non-conforming medication cart materials vendors.

**3. RESEARCH & RECOMMENDATIONS**

The team member is also required to research and suggest new automation equipment lines that Manrex may want to add to their portfolio using their experience and knowledge of the market to analyse the market potential for the new equipment and reporting their research to the management team.

**ISO**

Manrex is ISO certified and incumbent must be familiar with ISO procedures and standards. Initiates and creates work related document and processes relating to this position in coordination with the Customer Service & Operations Manager.
