**ABOUT SSCS**:
Founded in 1978, Sea to Sky Community Services (SSCS) is one of BC’s most respected and

established community service organizations. We operate within a large geographic area
- from Pemberton to Britannia Beach - supporting individuals and families living in the Sea to

Sky Corridor. We offer 41 programs and services, including early childhood development,

childcare, affordable housing, outreach, counselling, family support, seniors and youth

services, community living services and respite. We provide a range of services that support

our communities and residents through all ages and stages of their lives. Last year, SSCS

served 6500 individuals and families in our region.

**We are looking for two individuals or families interested in sharing their home with a**

**young woman with a developmental disability in** **Squamish** **and another provider for a**

**young man in Squamish or Whistler**

**What a Homeshare contractor does**:
You are responsible for the safety, security, and oversight of the individual in your care.

Homeshare contractors are independent contractors supported through the Homeshare

program with Sea to Sky Community Services and Community Living BC.

Some of your responsibilities:

- Provide a warm, safe and supportive environment 24 hours per day
- Ensure health needs are met daily
- Ensure monthly and quarterly reporting is completed
- Support individuality, personal choices, and decision making

**Specific details about this position**:
R is an independent female in her 40’s who has lived in Squamish for many years. She loves

the community and has many ties to the area including family and friends. She works and

travels independently. R is outgoing, friendly and well liked by her peers.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a local woman. R requires a

positive and patient role model who will support her interests, friendships and assist her in

participating in community activities.

J is a young man in is 40’s who works and is independent in his community. J would prefer to

be in Squamish but has previously lived in Whistler and is open to living there again.

**Requirements**:
1. Criminal record review

2. Current first aid certificate

3. Approved reference check

4. Driver’s abstract

5. Covid-19 vaccination required
