The Faculty of Music, Wilfrid Laurier University, requires part-time contract teaching faculty (CTF) to teach the course listed below at the Waterloo campus. Following is a brief description of the course to indicate the content and level of difficulty. Application items below suggested as optional are strongly recommended. Position Summary:
A survey of Art Song literature from its inception to present day. The goal of this course is to explore the emergence and development of Song from Europe and the Americas and to acquire a language to describe the style characteristics of this type of vocal literature. Topics to be covered include: Italian song, German Lieder, French Mélodie, Russian Song, Scandinavian Song, American Song, Canadian Song including an introduction to Music of Canadian Indigenous Peoples.

Qualifications - Required: MMus; or BMus and extensive experience (5 years) at the national/international level in vocal or collaborative piano (in voice) performance.

Qualifications - Areas of Specialization: Demonstrated experience in teaching vocal literature at the post-secondary level.
