The GeoBC & Natural Resource Sector Data Services - Analytics & Visualization Services Branch, is a dynamic team of GIS professionals providing essential decision-making and problem-solving support to the Natural Resource Sector. Working alongside a diverse group of coordinators, analysts and partners, including biologists, land and resource experts, Indigenous communities, and external proponents, this established team drives initiatives in GIS technology, environmental stewardship, reconciliation, and climate adaptation. **The Role**
As the Geospatial Team Lead, you'll lead a team that develops tools and solutions for sharing necessary information with internal and external partners. You’ll collaborate with geospatial teams and offer expert guidance on key projects like Cumulative Effects, Modernized Land Use Planning, and Environmental Stewardship. Your role will support informed decision-making about natural resources, helping improve sustainability and conservation efforts across British Columbia. **Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in geomatics, resource management, geography, environmental science, or computer science or related area, AND/OR a diploma in geographic information systems, OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience supporting clients and/or project teams designing and developing spatial analysis solutions.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in a role predominantly responsible for GIS analysis and mapping.
- Minimum five (5) years experience using ESRI GIS products.

Preference may be given to applicants with experience or training in/with:

- Supervising and/or leading teams.
- Delivering analytical GIS products and services.
- Communicating with clients and coordinating and delivering system or process changes to stakeholders from various business lines.
- Automating or scripting solutions for repetitive tasks using tools such as Python, or other programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, FME, SQL, R).
- Raster Analysis including working with optical satellite and/or LiDAR-derived products.
- A variety of natural resource, economic, and/or social data sets, in particular for the Province of BC.
- Managing and developing spatial and attribute data sets.
- Database management principles.

**About this Position**:
This position can be based in any Water, Land, and Resource Stewardship Ministry/GeoBC office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
