During the interview it will be requested that a cutting test is performed.
Requirements to Apply:
- at least 2 years of meat cutting experience in a grocery setting
- working knowledge of various meats and cuts of meats
- ability to stand for long time periods, use hands frequently and work in a cold environment
- ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch
- ability to frequently lift and/or move 25lbs and occasionally 75lbs
- ability to prioritize work responsibilities, multi-task and keep focus while under pressure
**Job Description**:
- cutting, grinding and preparing meat for sale
- use and maintenance of knives, saws, grinders and slicers
- ensure displays are accurate and attractive to buyers
- engage in specialized skills training
- receive and unload shipments, price product ensuring quality control
- ensure compliance for safety/sanitation mandated by provincial, federal and CFIA regulations
- comply with weight, measures and labeling of product set out by provincial government
- receive and prepare customer orders
- determine areas for improvement and suggest changes to address concerns
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 per week
**Salary**: $16.00-$22.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekend availability
