**The County of Huron's Homes for the Aged Department is seeking a Full-time Nutrition Manager to Join the Huronlea/Huronview Team**
- 35 hrs/week 8:30am to 4:30pm (4 days at Huronlea/1 day at Huronview) *

**Position Summary**:
Huronview and Huronlea Homes for the Aged are sister Homes in the County of Huron. These municipal Long Term Care homes provide health services for those who can no longer live independently in their own homes and require nursing and personal care 24 hours a day. The position of Nutrition Manager works collaboratively with the Homes Management Team to plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate and improve the provision of Dietary services to the residents at Huronview and Huronlea. This position provides leadership for the Dietary staff and supports an environment which promotes the mission, vision and values of the Homes. The Nutrition Manager is responsible for the quality of the food and service provided in the Home, adhering to the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021 and Regulations, the standards established by the Homes and other related legislation, e.g. Public Health, Ministry of Labour, County by-laws and policies and procedures.

**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Is aware of the legislation governing Long-Term Care, Food Services, Public Health Ontario Ministry of Labour, Occupational Health and Safety, Resident Bill of Rights and ensures that the department is working within these regulations.
- Supervises the daily operation of the Dietary department, including but not restricted to: scheduling, purchasing and procurement, meal and snack observation, catering, cleaning protocol, staff supervision and other related duties.
- Promotes and demonstrates a positive and innovative culture reflective of the Homes’ mission, vision and value statements.
- Collaborates with Human Resources department in personnel recruitment, evaluation, and performance management.
- Ensure staff qualification requirements are current.
- Leads and supports the Dietary team with integrity, respect, equity and consistency.
- Oversees and collaborates with the Home’s contracted Registered Dietitian.
- Works with the Registered Dietitian to ensure residents’ nutrition needs and preferences are met and reflected and communicated through timely and accurate documentation.
- Ensures that assessment of residents’ nutritional risk level and nutritional needs are met.
- Work collaboratively with the Registered Dietitian to complete RAI-MDS assessments and other documentation as per the regulations, standards and guidelines.
- Facilitates Residents’ and Tenants’ Food Committee along with Departmental Meetings on a monthly basis and responds to suggestions and concerns in a timely manner.
- Participates in: Resident Food Committee, Professional Advisory Committee, Resident Safety and Continuous Quality Improvement team, Palliative team, Care Conferences as well as other Homes and Huron County committee work as required.
- Establish and sustain a compliant, best practice based “standard of excellence” in all operations of the food Dietary department including but not limited to: inventory management, food production, meal and snack service, cleaning/sanitation and infection control quality assurance, budgeting management, occupational health and safety, identifying equipment repair/replacement needs, HR practices related to the leadership of staff.
- Collaborates with Director and Administrator to establish and responsibly administer budget for the department including: annual budget planning, forecasting, variance planning (as required), reporting of financial status.
