Health Sciences North (HSN) is seeking an innovative leader for the position of Supervisor, Radiation Therapy to Coordinate and evaluate the patient care and staffing activities, and delivery process of the Radiation Treatment/Therapy department of the NECC. In addition, to ensure high quality, safe, and efficient Radiation Treatment and planning is executed by Radiation Therapists.

**KEY FUNCTION**:
Coordinate and evaluate the patient care and staffing activities, and delivery process of the Radiation Treatment/Therapy department of the NECC. Ensure high quality, safe, and efficient Radiation Treatment and planning is executed by Radiation Therapists.

**REPORTING**:
Under the general direction of the Manager, Radiation Treatment.

**DUTIES**:

- Oversee the delivery of optimal patient care in a safe, patient-focused environment.
- Prepare, monitor, and administer departmental budgets, including budget variance analysis and establishing resources required within allocated funding.
- Provide clinical direction in the implementation of processes for all new and existing technology, software, and equipment, to maintain high technical standards of service delivery.
- Initiate, evaluate, and make decisions regarding equipment resources.
- Create, monitor, and approve patient and staff scheduling.
- Plan and organize the daily workload, and prepare workload reports.
- Work collaboratively with responsible stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations governing Cancer Care Delivery Research (CCDR), professional practice issues, and other regulatory bodies.
- Ensure the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures, and advise and assist staff in these matters.
- Manage human resources which include: recruitment, selection and training.
- Guide, motivate, monitor and supervise staff, develop standards of performance, evaluate performance and make recommendations on disciplinary action if required.
- Oversee the work of others in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), its regulations, and HSN policies.
- Evaluate patient care and satisfaction on an ongoing basis and formulate solutions for improvement.
- Determine and align improvement projects with HSN’s Strategic Plan; monitor and adjust to achieve goal outcomes.
- Participate in the accreditation process and work to ensure that the program and HSN achieve, maintain and continually improve upon their accredited status.
- Teach, coach and lead staff in the development and monitoring of quality indicators and improvement initiatives.
- Engage in and foster professional development of all staff and provide opportunities for learning within budgeted resources.
- Ensure a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors; investigate report, debrief and take or direct corrective action as required on incidents.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders/organizations/community groups to achieve program objectives, integrate and link services and foster partnerships across the continuum of service delivery.
