Director of Nursing for Long Term Care Home

Hampton Terrace Care Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Time, Director Of Nursing to join to our dedicated team. We are a RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization designate plus a fully Accredited Home with exemplary status from Accreditation Canada. Reports directly to the home Administrator and is fully responsible for efficient operation of the Nursing Department and in keeping compliance with the legislated requirements. As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing care within our facility. You will provide excellent service for our residents. You will lead the assessment of all resident needs and plan, implement, and evaluate the care needs. You will work in close collaboration with our management team, attending physicians, residents, family members, and external care providers.
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
- Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff, ensuring high-quality care is delivered to all residents
- Maintain and implement nursing policies and procedure manuals and work routines for nursing department, including mission,philosophy of care, goals and objectives,
- Manage and allocate resources effectively, including staffing, budgeting, and equipment needs
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of nursing staff and provide ongoing training and development opportunities
- Oversee the implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction
- Ensure the maintenance of effective liaison with Ministry of Health representatives, the community public health, medical director, physicians, coroner, pharmacist, and other appropriate agencies or organizations.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Current Registration and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a nursing role within LTC setting
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a direct supervisor or manager preferred within a LTC setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
- Medication Administration Skills essential, using eMar system an asset
- Strong Knowledge of The Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021 Ontario Regulation 246/22
- Strong Knowledge of Point Click Care an asset
- Excellent organizational skills, computer skills, listening skills
- Excellent Customer Service & Leadership skills with a passion for leading a positive team environment.
- Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle to perform the duties of this position
MANDATORY PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Pre-Employment Health Assessment
- Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check (must be within 6 months)
- Employment Reference Check ( 3)
- Immunization Intent / 2 Step TB Test (within 6 months)
Pay: From $105,000.00 per year
