Packing Machine Operator

**GENERAL REQUIREMENTS**
- There are sanitation job duties required in this role. Training will be provided
- Weekend work may be required based on production requirements
- Reports to Production Supervisor
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Committed to quality, safety and communication
- Maintains a high standard of Health and Safety, strictly adheres to Health & Safety SOPs
- Complies with Safety regulations as stated within the Health & Safety Act
- Maintain a high standard of Quality and Food Safety, must follow Company Policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures
- Set-up and tear-down of equipment within the required standard times while following all safety procedures, including LOTO
- Responsible for completing all production and Q.A. paperwork and reporting pertaining to the job
- Ensuring all equipment is set up and cleaned as per SOP’s, GMPs’s & CFIA regulations
- Ensure packaging equipment are properly cleaned, washed and stored in appropriate 5S location
- Focus on pasta/product quality and process readiness is a must
- Perform, record and monitor quality targets including making the necessary adjustments when measurements are outside of target
- Effectively monitoring production equipment
- Must be able to trouble shoot and fix line issues within the scope of roles and responsibilities
- Observe and monitor input/output, accuracy, and efficiency of machine
- Report issues impacting production including, safety risks, material shortage risks, downtime, production and quality issues to supervision
- Perform housekeeping duties maintaining workplace organization requirements
- Will be required to follow job rotation for ergonomic purposes
- Assume other duties deemed necessary by the Company
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Proven experience as an operator
- Strong knowledge of machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Trouble shooting and problem solving skills
- Working knowledge of diverse machinery and measurement tools (caliper, moisture meter etc.)
- Teamwork and communication skills is a must
- Able to make decisions
- Team-oriented and self-directed
- Must be very flexible, be a team player, and have the ability to work with mínimal supervision
- G.M.P’s and HACCP training is required
- Must have excellent work ethics and attendance record
- Knowledge of WHMIS is required
- Will be required to perform physically demanding work
- Must have a mechanical aptitude
