**What is the purpose of the Warehouse Forklift Operator, Lead?**

The Warehouse Forklift Lead is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager with forklift operations and ensuring that all operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and effectively. The position requires someone passionate about leading, partnering with forklift operators, enforcing safety regulations, and ensuring all products are stored properly and efficiently. The Warehouse Forklift Lead is also responsible for performing daily inspections in adherence with OSHA regulations. Responsible for training new operators with Saxco standards and processes. The Forklift Operator Lead will act as a backup with the Warehouse Operations Manager is out of the office. The Forklift Operator lead is responsible for accurately receiving, storing, and shipping products to meet company standards of safety, productivity, and quality. This includes the operation of a forklift in the handling of products.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Warehouse Operations Manager with the daily operation of the warehouse forklift team and general warehouse team
- Assist with delegating tasks and supervising activities of the forklift operator and general warehouse team to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all team members adhere to company policies and safety standards and ensure all PPE is worn
- Maintain accurate records and report any issues or discrepancies
- Perform daily equipment and safety checks per OSHA standards
- Train new forklift operators on Saxco standards and processes
- Load and unload freight in an efficient and safe manner, using all necessary paperwork
- Transport products to warehouse storage areas using the proper equipment and the correct put-away method
- Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, picking, and other tasks as needed.
- Keep track of inventory and ensure that products are stored properly and efficiently
- Sweep and clean the area, including trailers, as needed.
- Utilize RF scanners

**Qualifications**:

- Good math, language, and reading skills.
- Follow instructions for operating equipment.
- Experience in the use of an RF scanner.

**Skills Required**:

- Proven experience as a forklift operator.
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards
- Proven experience in a lead role for at least 2 years
- 3-5 year’s distribution center and warehouse experience required

**Education/Training Required**
- High School degree, diploma, or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college

**ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS**
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. - includes occasional and repetitive lifting
- Sitting 10%, walking 20%, standing 70%.
- Long periods of standing, twisting, and bending
- Overtime work may be required to meet company demands
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to judge distances and heights
- Ability to work in varying seasonal temperatures
- Ability to work in all functional areas of the warehouse
