Security Guard

Hughes Intelligence was established in 1994 and is located in Sarnia, Ontario. We adhere to the highest standards of security guard training, business security services, private investigation and more.

We are currently recruiting **Security Guards **to join our growing team providing security services in a variety of different settings ranging from healthcare institutions to retail and industrial locations.

We are currently seeking licensed Security Guards for **full-time** hours who are able to work within a long-term care home (LTC) in **Wallaceburg**. *_Please note, while you would be scheduled in Wallaceburg, an in-person interview would be done at our office in Sarnia*_

**Paid training includes**:

- Infection Control, COVID-19 screening & testing
- Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA)
- Responding to Responsive Behaviours in Long Term Care

**Security Guard responsibilities**:

- Protecting people, assets & property at client locations
- Monitoring access points using surveillance & alarm systems
- Assist with High Intensity Needs Residents in Long Term Care settings on a 1:1 basis
- Conducting preventive surveillance
- Providing impeccable customer service
- Preventing fire, theft & vandalism through vigilance
- Verifying & inspecting all safety equipment
- Enforcing client property regulations
- Writing reports
- Take temperatures for the staff/visitors who enter the client's property
- Assist with screening measures such as asking specific screening questions and other measures that may be implemented

**Security Guard requirements**:

- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR certification **(Must be from a Red Cross trained organization)**:

- Must pass Vulnerable Police Check (VPC) **(REQUIRED)**:

- **3** COVID-19 Vaccinations (required in LTC)
- Valid Driver's License **(REQUIRED)**:

- Own vehicle or reliable method of transportation **(REQUIRED)**:

- Willing to travel out of Sarnia for locations such as Petrolia, Grand Bend, Wallaceburg & Chatham
- Previous experience working as a security guard or previous experience within Long Term Care or working with the elderly is an asset
- Full availability including nights, days, afternoons, weekends & statutory holidays, 8 to 12 hour shifts
- Proactive, attention-to-detail, self-motivated, team players

**Salary**: $16.55-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 48 per week

**Experience**:

- Security Guard: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Red Cross CPR & First Aid (Level C) certificate? (required)
- Security Guard Licence (preferred)
