Assessment accommodation
To be considered for the Research Affiliate Program (RAP), you must meet the following criteria:
- You are a full-time student in a post-secondary institution
- You are enrolled in an academic program that requires research as part of your curriculum
- You meet the minimum age required in the province/territory of work
**Duties**:
This project aims to develop historical indicators of aquatic ecosystem health based on benthic invertebrate community data from the mid 1990s in the Christina River watershed.
- Carry out research in order to develop historical indicators of aquatic ecostyem health based on benthic invertebrate community data.
- Conduct research using advanced statistical methods integrating abiotic and biotic data sets to understand dynamics in aquatic environments.
- Interpret results and write scientific reports

EDUCATION:
The student must be currently enrolled in a Master's of Science program at the University of Calgary to expedite collaboration for the described research at which he or she is enrolled as having full-time student status.
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in preparing literature reviews and datasets, analyzing data using various statistical methods and models (e.g., R programming language) to integrate abiotic and biotic data sets to understand dynamics in aquatic environments.
Experience collecting routine water quality and benthic invertebrate samples.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness and ability to travel within Canada.
Willing to present results at conferences and meetings.
