**TOOR’S CHILDCARE INC. has been providing childcare services in west Abbotsford for the past 21 years, since year 2000. We have two location with-in walking distance of one another, both centers are multi-age childcare centers that operate at the maximum capacity of 8 children per center. We are hoping to expand, by opening more centers in other parts of our community. Our center provides a warm and nurturing environment, with focus on providing reliable, trustworthy and respectful services to meet the needs of the families and children in our community that require childcare.**
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**The Childcare Supervisor will oversee Toor’s Childcare Inc’s** **day-to-day operation, at one of our locations. The Supervisor will report to Toor’s Childcare Inc’s Owner/Operator. The Childcare Supervisor is responsible for managing the center to provide quality, inclusive childcare services. The Supervisor has a strong understanding of leadership, quality care, culturally and age-appropriate child care programming, early childhood development, Child Care Licensing Regulations and can work in respectful collaboration with other staff hired at the center, families, practicum students, child development center, MCFD and other services connected to the center.**
**Responsibilities**
- **Ensure that the center promotes positive, holistic, strength-based early childhood development, in a culturally appropriate manner to support all areas of the child’s development and needs. Ensuring environment feels safe for all children.**:
- **Ensure the center meets all requirements of Childcare Licensing Regulations, including maintaining the facility and the children’s files.**:
- **Lead, recruit, motivate, train, coach and supervise Toor’s Childcare inc.** Staff, including yearly performance evaluations and providing support to staff as needed. Facilitate access to professional development opportunities for staff.*
- **Ongoing monitoring of the childcare budget, including yearly budget reviews.**:
- **Organization, billing and connection with MCFD: ACCB program and Childcare Operating Fund (CCOF, CCFRI and Wage Enhancement)**:
- **Majority of the time, able to work on independently and provide sole daily care to eight children of various ages.**:
- **Utilizing positive behavioral management strategies to guide children’s behavior. Working in collaboration with Child Development Center to support children with high behavioral needs.**:
- **Develop and provide age-appropriate program/curriculum planning, informed by the latest early childhood development research**:
- **Ensure positive communication and collaboration with staff, professionals, parents, guardians, families and caregivers. Utilizing positive and respectful conflict resolution skills.**:
- **Perform other duties as required.**
**Requirements and Qualifications**:
- **ECE license to practice**:
- **Criminal Records Check.**:
- **Current First Aid**:
- **VALID Early Childhood Certification or with Infant Toddler and Special Needs Certification**:
- **Proof of Covid Vaccinations**
**Experience**
- **Experience supervising childcare staff**:
- **Experience working in an Infant/Toddler and special need preferred or willing to take further paid educational training or workshops**
**Knowledge and Skill**
- **Excellent verbal, written, and active listening skills**:
- **Positive communication skills**:
- **Knowledge Early Learning Framework and implementation of Educational Play Based Curriculum**:
- **Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills able to prioritize competing priorities.**:
- **Demonstrated leadership ability and experience with program planning and development for children aged 3 months to 12 years.**:
- **Able to work effectively independently and as a member of a team.**:
- **Up to date knowledge of relevant community resources.**:
- **Computer skills, program such as ACCB/ CCOF/ Wage enhancement portals**
