**Financial Trustee, Part time, Independent Contract**
- (January 1, 2023-March 31, 2024)_

**What We Will Ask of You**:
The Financial Trustee (Trustee) is an Independent Contractor that will be collaborating with our Adult Protective Services team to support individuals manage their personal finances. The Trustee will be supporting adults living with a developmental disability, receiving funds through; Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) funds manage financial obligations such as paying bills, budgeting expenditures etc. The Trustee will be required to provide reports to the Financial Controller.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Act as Financial Trustee for individuals accessing Adult Protective Services to support with financial needs.
- Act within the ODSP regulations and the Trust Act.
- Ensure required forms are completed for service users including; Application for Assistance, Consent to Disclose and Verify Information Form, Rights and Responsibilities form.
- Maintain ongoing client documentation including income support for auditing purposes.
- Responsible for completion of various ODSP reporting requirements regarding income or assets or any other changes in circumstances that may impact eligibility for service users.
- Responsible for preparing annual report and submission to ODSP.
- Ensure services are compliant within applicable legislation including; Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) and Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) standards for applicable program, reports and risk mitigation.
- Follow up with agency staff on applicable updates as needed.
- Provide support with agency annual audit as required including Auditor access to various documentation including, Trustee forms, client ledgers, banks statements, cancelled cheques and deposit books, rent receipts or lease agreements and bills/invoices supporting expenditures.
- Notify Financial Controller of any financial concerns or problems related to client funds as needed.
- Work consistent day(s) each month in the Agency’s Peterborough and Lindsay offices.
- Be available for appointments with clients on those day(s).
- Prepare monthly financial statements including; bank reconciliations, agency invoicing as well as individualized client summary of deposits and expenditures.
- Maintain adequate accounting records and supporting documentation to substantiate all transactions.
- Provide adequate arrangements during Trustee vacation or illness periods to ensure mínimal disruption of Trustee services to Agency clients.

**Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of generalized experience in variety of finance related areas: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliation.
- Advanced knowledge of ODSP Act.
- Strong attention to detail, collaborative communicator, well organized with an excellent ability to prioritize, multi-task and take initiative.
- First Aid CPR Level C.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or Safe Management training.
- Valid G-Class driver’s license for the Province of Ontario, access to reliable transportation and have valid proof of automobile insurance with driving for business purposes and a minimum liability of two million dollars.
- Annual completion of a Criminal Background Check/Declaration, including Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
- Commitment to maximize resources and improve people’s quality of life.
