Landscaping Labourer

Purpose:
The Landscape Labourer is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks (generally physical labor) in order to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. The landscape labourer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.

Overview:
We are looking for employees who:

- Work safely in a responsible manner, with eager participation and initiative.
- Comply with all company policies/regulations and local health and safety regulations.
- Communicate to customers in a polite and courteous manner.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, job sites, and shop/yard area.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
- Have a high attention to detail with a goal of providing excellent workmanship.

Landscape Labourer will assist crew with the following tasks: (but not limited to)
- Dig ditches or trenches and perform land clearing activities.
- Construct walkways and patios, walls, fences, posts etc.
- Plant and maintain garden beds and lawns.
- Load and unload materials, tools and equipment required to complete construction projects.
- Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, equipment, and hands as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of work vehicles/equipment, and job site.
- Operate various tools and equipment(based on experience) not limited to: Laser levels, plate compactor, shovels/rakes, measurement equipment, chainsaws, whipper snipper, lawn mower, hand tools etc.
- Periodically operate heavy equipment including skid steer, excavator, dump truck etc. under direction from the supervisor. Training will be provided as required.

**Requirements**:

- Follow instruction.
- Perform work quickly and accurately, demanding excellence in quality of work produced.
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
- Desire to learn and develop continued skills. There is room for growth within our company.
- Valid Drivers licence with good drivers record required for operating company vehicles.

This is a mostly outdoors related profession, and employees are expected to be able to work in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold.

Occasional weekends may be required.

**Salary**: $16.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 45 per week

- 10 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Work Location: In person
