The Manitoba government is seeking a highly motivated individual to work with the Department of Labour and Immigration as an Elevator Inspector. Qualifications:
Essential:

- M-A Elevator License or a suitable combination of education and experience in the operation, installation, service, maintenance and/or inspection of elevator and/or elevating devices.
- Knowledge of the acts, regulations, codes and standards to be enforced: Elevator Act; Electricians Licence Act; Amusement Act - Part 2.
- Experience with effective inspection techniques and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision while exercising sound judgement.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suites such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills.

**Duties**:

- Reporting to the Program Manager, Elevator Unit the incumbent is responsible for providing technical safety inspections of elevating devices and amusement rides across Manitoba to ensure the safety of the public. While doing so, the incumbent exercises considerable authority on behalf of the branch to ensure compliance with requirements specified under the following provincial statutes supporting regulations and applicable codes and standards:_
