**The Position**:
We are seeking an experienced Wheeler Hand, skilled in handling multi-axle configurations up to 13 axles. This position is critical for supporting our transport operations, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of large and heavy loads. The role requires flexibility for travel, including assignments across the United States.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Operate and manage configurations of up to 13 axles for the transportation of heavy loads.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of all equipment and report any issues or safety concerns.
- Ensure compliance with both Canadian and U.S. transport regulations and standards.
- Maintain communication with dispatch and other team members to report progress and coordinate movements.
- Assist in load planning and securing procedures to ensure safety throughout transit.
- Represent BDS professionally during international operations
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience as a Wheeler Hand, with expertise in managing up to 13-axle configurations.
- Strong understanding of transport laws and regulations in both Canada and the U.S.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel extensively, particularly to the United States, including possessing or being able to obtain necessary travel documents.
- Commitment to maintaining safety standards and adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
**Physical Requirements/Work Conditions**:
- Capable of handling physical demands such as lifting, pulling, and maneuvering heavy equipment.
- Willingness to work in various outdoor weather conditions and extended travel periods.
