**MEA Scientist**

**Description**

We are looking for a talented MEA Scientist to join our #Accelera by Cummins business unit located in Mississauga, Ontario.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Lead the efforts in designing and fabricating next generation MEAs for fuel cells and electrolyzers

Actively interface with testing team and develop critical protocols for MEA characterization for performance and durability

Lead data analysis in collaboration with other scientists and engineers to support the down-selection of MEA designs

Lead the efforts in patenting novel ideas and proof-of-concepts within the company's technology domain

Engage in active collaboration with national laboratories and academic collaborators to support and manage research projects.

Actively participate in writing proposals to various government bodies

**Qualifications**

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Strong background in electrochemistry and materials science

An in-depth understanding of the properties and characteristics of electrode materials for selecting, designing, and optimizing electrodes for fuel cells and electrolyzers

Understand and tailor MEA subcomponents to the key tunable to address cost, performance, and durability

Understand degradation mechanisms of the MEA subcomponents to improve their durability

Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers

Manage technical swim lane with key suppliers, purchasing, and quality function for research, development and production

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Advance degree in engineering or appropriate STEM field (PhD preferred)

Experience Required:
Experience in electrochemical, physical and morphological characterizations (In-situ and Ex-situ) of MEA and its sub-component

Experience in electrode fabrication techniques such as doctor blade coating, spray coating, and inkjet printing

Adept in electrocatalyst synthesis and characterization to improve the performance and durability of fuel cell and electrolyzer electrode

Experience in MEA failure analysis

Experience in modeling and simulation is an asset
