Facilities Maintenance Technician

**Responsibilities**:
- Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance, repair, and minor construction work of company facilities involving plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, remodelling, painting, and a variety of other craft work
- Perform a variety of carpentry duties, including installing, repairing, and building doors, windows, shelves, counters, floors, wallboard, railings, fences, and walls.
- Conduct electrical repairs and installations, including troubleshooting and repairing outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
- Instals, maintains and repairs a variety of plumbing fixtures and fittings including sinks, toilets, faucets, and related equipment; repair leaks and stoppages.
- Maintain an organised inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring everything is in good working condition.
- Repair or replace damaged drywall, tiles, or flooring materials as needed.
- Handle basic HVAC maintenance tasks, such as changing filters and cleaning ducts.
- Troubleshoot and repair appliances, including refrigerators and dishwashers.
- Perform outdoor maintenance duties such as gutter cleaning and siding repairs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests through an online request system, addressing issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain an organised inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring everything is in good working condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing tasks, minimising risks and hazards in the workplace.
- Collaborate with Facilities Project Manager as needed to complete larger projects or specialised tasks.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked, providing regular updates to the Facilities Project Manager as required.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role, with a demonstrated track record of successful maintenance and repair projects.
- Proficiency in a variety of trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and management of the Group.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects as required.
- Valid driver’s licence and clean drivers abstract.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or vocational training in relevant trades is a plus.
