Sawyer for Steel Fabrication Shop

We are seeking a skilled Sawyer to join our team at our steel fabrication shop. The Sawyer will play a crucial role in our production process, responsible for cutting and preparing steel materials according to specifications. This position requires attention to detail, precision, and a strong understanding of steel fabrication techniques.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate sawing and ironworker equipment to cut steel materials accurately and efficiently.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine cutting requirements.
- Measure and mark steel materials for cutting, ensuring precise dimensions.
- Maintain cutting equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
- Keep accurate records of materials and inventory levels.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Sawyer or similar role in a steel fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in operating sawing and ironworker equipment and other related tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in workmanship.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in metalworking is a plus.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
