We’re looking for a Pressroom Supervisor who will be an excellent guide, mentor and support to our Pressroom staff, ensuring the efficiency of production operations and troubleshooting any problems that arise. This position is fully onsite and will work Monday-Friday on either day (6am-3pm) or afternoon (3pm-11pm) shifts.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Maintaining the efficiency of the Press Room at all levels, troubleshooting and problem solving when any issues arise
- Work on press approvals for customers, and sales representatives
- Order supplies and managing inventory levels, including building relationships with vendors including electrical, heating/cooling, plumbing, waste removal, humidifiers, floors, commercial cleaning, racking, roofing, lift trucks and pallet trucks, skid turner, exhaust units, paper compactor
- Monitoring and managing press schedules
- Scheduling maintenance and repairs
- Processing press room staff weekly hours, crew scheduling, overtime scheduling, overtime recording, and vacation logging in system
- Managing all consumables, as well as waste removals
- Backup for Plant manager/Scheduler for scheduling and job planning
- Perform other duties as assigned
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- 5+ years of Press Room Supervisor experience
- Must have strong knowledge of Heidelberg Sheet fed off-set presses and colour management standards; web press knowledge is an asset
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
- Motivated individual with excellent organizational skills, high level of integrity and energy, and able to work in dynamic environments, with exceptional people management skills
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Overtime work may be required from time to time, but is rare
- Previous experience as a member of a Joint Health and Safety Committee an asset
