Research Evaluator - Indigenous-Based Youth Addiction Treatment Center

**Type**

8-Month Contract (40 hours per week).

**About Us**

Nimkee Nupigawagan Healing Centre (NNHC) is an Indigenous-based youth addiction treatment center dedicated to providing holistic care. We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of the youth and their communities by offering evidence-based programs and support services.

**Role Overview**

As a Research Evaluator, you will be assessing and enhancing the effectiveness of our programs and services. You will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and providing insights and reports to guide the improvement of our offerings.

**Responsibilities**
- Evaluate the efficacy of our programs through data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Research addiction statistics, trends, and emerging issues related to Indigenous youth.
- Monitor and assess the developing need for residential treatment programs and report on trends.
- Define and measure the concept of total abstinence for recovered youth.
- Investigate the intersection of mental health and addiction in Indigenous youth.
- Conduct research on the benefits and outcomes of residential before care, treatment, and aftercare programs.
- Present findings to stakeholders, contribute to reports, and make recommendations for program enhancements.
- Maintain accurate records of research activities and findings.

**Qualifications**

Abstainer with at least three years continuous sobriety is a requirement by organizational policy.
- A degree in psychology, social sciences, public health, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in research design, data collection, and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with Indigenous cultures, issues, and a commitment to cultural sensitivity.
- Appropriate understanding of addiction and mental health challenges faced by Indigenous youth.
- Excellent communication for presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant research tools and software (such as Microsoft Office, 123Forms, Survey Monkey, or other relevant software).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ethical and respectful approach to research involving Indigenous communities.
- A registered member of a First Nation (as per section 16(1) of the Human Rights Act) is preferred.
