**POSITION TITLE**: Pizza Production & Deli Service Clerk (Full-Time)

**LOCATION**: Village Grocer (Markham, Ontario)

**TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR**: Manager, Deli Department

**Scope**

**Role Requirements**
- Available to work a varied schedule (mornings, days, evenings, week & weekend days) totaling 40+ hours per week.
- Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene & appearance
- Adheres to company dress code (uniform, hat/hairnet)
- Maintaining a clean and safe workspace environment
- Endure medium/high levels of physical exertion (standing, climbing stairs, bending, lifting, etc.)
- Operate meat and cheese slicers, cutting tools, scale and other deli equipment
- Can successfully communicate and engage with customers
- Observes company code of conduct, policies and store rules
- Preform other duties and assignments as directed

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare, dress, package and display our premium take-home pizzas
- Provide premier service to customers by greeting them and responding to orders and questions
- Maintaining the Village Grocers high standards for product freshness and sanitation
- Providing customers with product information needed to make product-related decisions
- Selecting and packaging products ordered by customers
- Merchandising, filling, maintaining and rotating cooler products and displays
- Preparing special orders and party trays
- Operating various types of equipment such as scales, meat and cheese slicers, cutting tools and other deli equipment
- Cleaning & sanitation (sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning produce islands and grocery shelves, etc.)
- Customer service approach in a cordial and friendly fashion
- Adhere to all provincial health and civil code regulations

**Working Conditions**
- Inside, fridge work on occasion

- Communication Skills: The Pizza/Deli Service Clerk often serves as our first line of contact with our valued customers. Key skills required include:

- Speaking and engaging with customers in a calm, effective and friendly manner
- Listening skills
- Patience
- Stamina: Deli Service Clerks often bend, crouch and stand for long periods of time. Employees may be required to lift medium to heavy objects
- Job Commitment: Punctual and able to work variable shifts as scheduled by the department manager.

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
