Simple Life Homes is a unique and innovative company specializing in building sustainable prefabricated homes by designing carbon storing pre-fabricated panels with which to build them. Prefabricated homes are the future of the building industry and we continue to educate ourselves and collaborate inside the industry to deliver the best possible prefab components to our clients. This is and always will be our goal. Over the years our team has grown and our skill set has widened. We've trained with Passive House Canada to become certified Passive House designers and builders and we now use 3D software to design every inch of our homes pre fabricated components, before it's built on site.

**THE POSITION**

Our CADwork Technician prepares engineering designs, drawings, and related technical information in collaboration with our multidisciplinary engineering teams and in support of the engineers, architects, or industrial designers we partner with to create our unique green sustainable buildings. They also liaise regularly with our Production Operations Manager to review drawings, create new standard operating procedures, and implement industry best practices to ensure that the handoffs that occur between our Design and Production departments occur effectively, and promote efficiency in our company wide workflow.

**DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Produce drawings, using CADwork
- Draft plans and detailed drawings for our private residence, and multi-family projects
- Lay out interior room arrangements, using CADwork
- Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages according to required mediums and specifications for reproduction
- Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data.
- Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to lists of materials.
- Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to design specifications and quantity of required materials.
- Liaise with our partnered engineers, architects, and designers to develop the 2D and 3D models according to the building requirements, and client wants
- Explain drawings to production or construction teams and provide adjustments as necessary.
- Determine quality, cost, strength, and quantity of required materials, and enter figures on materials lists.
- Calculate weights and volumes, and their implications for technical aspects of designs.
- Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data to ensure that they conform to design concepts

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, construction, or drafting
- Knowledge of key engineering or architectural concepts
- Technically proficient with computer systems
- Quick learner with a desire to grow and expand their knowledge
- Confident in communicating with a wide variety of people consistently and working as part of a team
- Experience with CADwork or other CAD software is an asset
- A diploma or degree in Construction Technology, Architecture, Engineering, or Manufacturing Operations is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
