Our recreation department is looking for temporary Recreation Attendants. These positions would assist in running recreational programming, which includes janitorial duties, completing set ups and tear downs for events (_indoor and outdoor_) based on the patron’s needs, rink attendant duties, litter and garbage collection, and special event services.
**Responsibilities**:
- Moving hockey nets for rink operators during flood schedules.
- Cleaning Dressing rooms between ice rentals.
- Emptying garbage throughout the facilities.
- Cleaning staff and public washrooms.
- Assisting in sets ups or tear downs in multiple meeting rooms.
- Switching out Pickle Ball and Tennis nets for clients.
- Moping and sweeping all spectator seating.
- Shoveling snow away from exit doors.
- All other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, customer service and public relations skills.
- Must be able to work all required shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Some heavy lifting may be required.
The starting wage is $16.00 per hour.
The average hours are 20 hours per week, typically on the weekends (8 hour shifts) and weekday evenings shifts (6 to 8 hour shifts) with a possibility of varying shifts based on departmental needs.
