Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, like you, to join our Diagnostic Imaging team and gain valuable health care experience for your future. Our Diagnostic Imaging department has state of the art equipment and a fantastic team. This role supports Diagnostic Imaging by performing ultrasound procedures in accordance with our Mission, Vision and Values of Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

**DUTIES**

1. Performs abdominal, obstetrical /gynecological, small parts, DVT and carotid ultrasound procedures as request by the Medical Staff and Radiologist.

2. Preparing a written preliminary report with each ultrasound procedure to the radiologist.
3. Conferring with the radiologist as needed.
4. Explaining the ultrasound procedure to the patient.
5. Answering any questions or concerns the patient may express in a supportive manner.
6. Obtaining consent for intra-cavity ultrasound procedures.
7. Transferring ultrasound images to PACS system for proper archiving.
8. Printing obstetrical ultrasound images
9. Communicating urgent results to the Medical Staff if the Radiologist is unavailable.

1. Degree/Diploma from an accredited ultrasound program.

2. Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required.

3. Member of Sonography Canada preferred.

4. Two years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.

5. Ability to work independently, as well as function effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team required.

Pay: $40.38-$50.63 per hour
