**Quality Control Inspector**

Thurston Machine Co. is specialized in fabrication, welding, machining and assembly of special purpose equipment for various industries as mining, steel making, power generation and transportation.

We are looking for a responsible Quality Control Inspector to perform daily quality inspections.

**Employment**: Full time permanent, 40 hours weekly, OT maybe required

**Position Overview**:
The primary role of the QC Inspector is to ensure products manufactured by Thurston Machine meet the specified requirements by performing inspections on incoming material and outcoming products.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Perform and report daily quality inspections as required
- Perform dimensional inspections on machined parts using gauges, calipers, micrometers or other measuring devices
- Perform Counterfeit Fraudulent and Suspect Items (CFSI) inspection on incoming material for nuclear orders
- Document the inspection results on inspection reports and relay to Quality Manager
- Quarantine rejected items and notify Quality Manager
- Notify Quality Manager of measuring instruments that are due for calibration
- Liaise with Quality Manager for quality documentation requirements and issues
- Liaise with manufacturing groups regarding quality issues
- Source inspection at suppliers may be required
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards
- Adhere to Thurston’s quality procedures
- Other duties maybe assigned
- Keep working area clean and well organized
- Keep measuring tools in good working conditions
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.

**Qualification and skills required**
- High school diploma as minimum
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of blueprint reading for measurements, tolerances and units (metric and imperial)
- 1-year minimum quality control experience with measuring equipment in manufacturing industry
- Ability to perform dimensional inspection in both, metric and imperial systems
- Documentation and reporting skills
- Attention to details
- Hand tools skills
- Knowledge of material traceability (grades and heat numbers)
- Self-motivated with ability to work efficiently under mínimal supervision
- Ability to stand/walk for minimum of 8 hours a day

Pay: $29.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
