Paint Technician

Overall Responsibility:
Oversee the paint shop and complete any paint-related tasks at Aerotec Engines as required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prep, mask, plug and paint external engine parts once they have been cleaned and inspected, as per the guidelines provided within Aerotec Standard Operating Procedures and manufacturer overhaul manuals.
- Parts include but are not limited to crankcases, oil sumps, accessory cases, cylinders, etc.
- Prep and paint any customer components, cylinders, and other parts that have been sent in for repair, or for paint
- Properly mix/prep paint and/or primer
- Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the paint department and equipment. Skills Required:
- Prior painting experience an asset but not required
- Ability to use various basic hand tools
- Ability to use a computer to view and update relevant fields
- Capable of staying focused while working independently
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Willingness to work with various substances & chemicals safely
- Well organized Reporting/Supervisory Requirements:
- Reports to Operations Manager and Pre-assembly Team Lead
- Required to supervise co-op students if assigned to paint department
Working Conditions:
- Use of various hand tools and painting equipment
- All equipment and required PPE provided
- Respirator and fitment test to be provided and paid for
- Required to work at Aerotec’s sole location
- Required to work during usual business hours (8am - 5pm) unless stated/requested otherwise
