**Job Overview**:
The VP, Automobile Products and Pricing is responsible for the strategy development and execution of Personal Lines regulated & non-regulated Automobile products as well as leading the pricing function for Commercial Auto (IRCA and Fleet). The primary goal is to develop and execute a profitable growth strategy for Wawanesa’s Automobile products including leading a robust Product Management & Pricing function while, Providing leadership to an Automobile Product & Pricing team to ensure they are creating products that deliver value to both members and the business, aligning the needs and goals of both into the future.

**Responsibilities**:
The key responsibilities include the following:

- Advances the Company’s Regulated Automobile portfolio performance by driving improvements in revenue, profit, and loss ratio with data-driven, sophisticated pricing and intelligent underwriting for all Automobile Products
- Manages a best-in-class, full lifecycle Product Management process that includes leading the develop of relevant products that meets the needs of our members in all jurisdictions and is consistent with Wawanesa’s Product vision
- Leads a Pricing team that develops and leverages robust segmentation, best practice methodologies, cutting-edge modeling, analysis and pricing models that all lead to meeting the organizations ROE targets.
- Represents the organization with all relevant Provincial Regulators with respect to Pricing
- Develops existing and attracts new industry leading talent in Pricing and Product Management
- Manages the daily progression of all product-related activities; preventing organizational silos and ensuring projects are successful by facilitating communication between all involved teams and individuals
- Understands and interprets data for making objective, data-driven decisions.
- Considers market trends and the competition's various marketing strategies to offer effective recommendations for product positioning and pricing
- Communicates and collaborates with the Regions’ leadership, marketing and communications departments to ensure each product is properly publicized and that agreed requirements are delivered through the organizations RPC process
- Manages strategic internal and external stakeholders

**Qualifications**:

- Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA)
- An Actuary with Automobile Product Management and Pricing experience with history of developing top performing P&C portfolios
- Deep expertise and knowledge of Auto Product Pricing (Personal and Commercial), Product Lifecycle management, Underwriting practices, guidelines, and the external operating environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management with the ability to build and maintain effective teams and relationships in a complex matrix environment
- Ability to create strategic plans and operationally execute to achieve growth and profit targets
- Strong analytical, quantitative, critical thinking and planning skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment in which he/she is leading organizational change
- Possesses personal characteristics of a strong leader - including personal resilience, adaptability, self-awareness, and the charisma to develop and communicate a vision with passion
- Shapes a culture which values learning and development at all levels, and appropriately allocates financial resources and human resources to develop the next generation of Property & Casualty leaders
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to influence and effectively negotiate with stakeholders
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial science, or related discipline (more needed here)
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a product management, pricing, underwriting including successful people leadership experience
- Relevant industry-related certifications are considered a strong asset (CIP, FCIP)
- Ability and willingness to travel
