**Responsibilities**:

- Simultaneously collects solid waste and operates waste collection vehicles:

- Collects solid waste from individual properties throughout the City:

- Manually lifts solid waste into the waste collection vehicle,
- Operates attached hydraulic lift for waste collection,
- Adheres to the City of Woodstock’s safe operating policies, procedures and wears all necessary PPE.
- Drives a single or two-person waste collection vehicle:

- Follows a preset route, collecting solid waste at every property,
- Observes Highway Traffic Act and municipal by-law regulations,
- Transports and empties truck as directed.
- Performs other related duties such as:

- Performs all daily inspections as regulated by the MTO,
- Maintains fuel levels before end of shift,
- Maintains the appearance of the assigned vehicle,
- Completes a daily timecard detailing hours worked, equipment used, mileage on the truck, and operators driving log,
- Reports any damages or repairs required for assigned equipment,
- Reports any contravention of any of the City of Woodstock’s policies, procedures, and bylaws,
- Performs all duties and responsibilities associated with Winter Operations.
- Maintains good relations with the public as comments are received on route.
- Works with mínimal supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 10 or equivalent and/or relevant experience will be considered.
- Valid Class “DZ” Driver’s License and good driving history.
- Standard First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience operating a wide variety of heavy equipment is an asset.
- Training with MTO Book 7 for Temporary Conditions, and proven knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable legislation is an asset.

**Working Conditions**:

- Subject to working in all weather conditions.
- Works in dirty conditions and is required to do heavy lifting.
- Subject to shift work and overtime as required.

The Corporation of the City of Woodstock does not require proof of vaccination status.
